First Ever: Emetrics Summit has Gone Multichannel!
Good news for friends of integrated marketing across online and offline channels. For the first time ever, the eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit in San Francisco this week included a whole track on Integrated Marketing!
On this agenda, the conference delivered a roster of wonderful speakers that brought their expertise from broader marketing disciplines to the web analytics community.
My favorites included:
- Marketing ROI experts Jim Lenskold and Pat LaPointe.
- Suresh Vittal who leads the Enterprise Marketing Management (EMM) practice at Forrester Research would have also been at the event to speak with John Lovett from Jupiter had Sureh’s recent accident not prevented him from making the trip. (John says he is doing better, knock on wood)
- You could say that the Integrated Marketing track added to Jim Novo’s voice at emetrics summits over the years. His name is synonymous with bringing offline marketers’ sophisticated methods to web analysts.
- To be highlighted in this regard is also Angel Morales with his new LightsOut Marketing project. Angel’s professional background predestines him to be a thought leader for creating better targeted email programs triggered through site visitor intelligence.
Kevin Hillstrom may be a speaker in future summits to present his Multichannel Forensics method.
What a promising sign for online marketing optimization! Looks like the artifical blindspot in regards to established direct and brand marketers methods is about to be fixed.
Another good sign, if I may allow myself to point out: I was told that the Multichannel Marketing book was the best selling book at the conference (Yay!).
Though, of course, it was also the newest book at the Wiley book store. So not totally surprising.
Go Jim Sterne & Team for once again leading the online industry forward!
Thanks Akin!
It was great to see you (and ecverybody else!) there, but I was dismayed that I didn’t get the chance to thank you for your new book: Multichannel Marketing: Metrics and Methods for On and Offline Success. It’s wonderful.
